4. Troubleshooting

Power or charging problems

Let's find the problem!

A Tracker missing from SlimeVR is not necessarily switched off. Check battery and charging first, then the receiver connection.

Mini: dock and contacts

  1. Check that the dock has power and its cable is secure.
  2. Check that the Tracker sits straight and its contacts touch.
  3. Disconnect dock power, then inspect contacts for debris or visible damage.
  4. Try a known-working cable with a computer USB port or a reputable, standards-compliant power supply.
  5. If you have other Trackers, compare using another dock slot.

If the same Tracker fails in every slot, note which one. If a different slot works, continue checking the dock and cable.

Mini Trackers turn on automatically when removed from the dock. Once charged, connect the receiver and open SlimeVR to check the connection.

Lite 2: Type-C connection

  1. Check that Type-C is fully inserted and the port has no debris or visible damage.
  2. Charge with a known-working cable and computer USB port or reputable, standards-compliant power supply.
  3. With Type-C facing down, press the left-hand button once to turn on; hold around 1.5 seconds to turn off.
  4. Check the SlimeVR device list.

Check the green charging light first

Green means charging. Off means fully charged or not currently charging. If it stays off immediately after connecting, check the cable, power and contacts rather than assuming it is full.

See Power and charging for red operating/error patterns. Record unusual blinking for support.

Normal updates use the OTA Update Center. If the page cannot detect a device, see Firmware update failures.

Powered on, but missing from SlimeVR?

Check that the receiver uses a USB data cable and SlimeVR is running. Reconnect the receiver and restart the software.

Continue with Connection problems; do not jump straight to re-pairing.

Mini power-off button not responding?

Check that you are using the matching Mini receiver and that it is powered. Use the button nearest Type-C.

Reconnect the receiver and try again, or select Receiver in Dawn Tracker Tools and use “Power off all.”

Still not working?

Take photos of your charging setup, contacts or port. Tell support your model and whether one Tracker or the entire set is affected.

Stop using a Tracker with a battery problem

If you notice unusual heat, swelling or an odor, stop using and charging it, and contact us. Do not take the battery apart yourself.
