Firmware updates and flashing
Take your Tracker to the next level!
For normal updates, both the Mini series and Lite 2 can use the Dawn Tracker OTA Update Center. No extra updater to download and no need to connect each Tracker to your computer.
How to update
- Connect the receiver, turn on the Trackers you want to update and check that they have enough battery.
- Open the OTA Update Center.
- Click the option to connect a Receiver, then select yours in the browser's device list.
- Choose Tracker updates, load the appropriate latest firmware as prompted and select the Trackers to update.
- Start the update and wait for the page to report completion.
- Return to SlimeVR and check that the Trackers connect and follow movement normally.
Keep everything connected during updates
Keep the receiver connected. Do not close the page or unplug devices. If the page asks you to select a device again or update in batches, follow its prompts.
OTA requires a browser with WebHID support; Safari and Firefox are not currently supported. If unsure, use the page's browser-check option first.
Updating a receiver
Choose Receiver updates on the OTA page and follow the corresponding instructions. Tracker and Receiver are different update targets; check your selection before starting.
Update unsuccessful?
Save the error screen and see Firmware update failures. If it still fails, contact us.
You do not need to figure out recovery modes or repeatedly try different firmware files yourself.
When other tools are needed
For wired updates or further steps arranged by support:
- Mini series: Use Dawn Tracker Tools with the Tracker in the dock's data slot nearest the Type-C socket.
- Lite 2 (v2.1): Use the Dawn Tracker (WCH) flashing tool with a Type-C data cable.
